Costa Rican Motorcycle (mostly) Road Tours
Posted on May 6th, 2009 2 commentsWe’re adding a third Motorcycle to our fleet. Humble beginnings indeed. I believe one day we’ll have a fourth. We’re growing from love of riding and the adventure of finally having our own Motorcycle Touring Business. As I said, there is no standard Tour.
Here’s a rough sketch though:
Costa Rica Motorcycle Tours
I live in Costa Rica and led tours for two Motorcycle Tour Companies over the last
eleven years. I don’t clam to know it all, or even even half of it. Friends in other
companies constantly remind me how little I know, in fact, by coming back with new stories of discovery and bits of gossip about places we used to go. I’m fine with that. When you get here, maybe we can find some of those new places, too. In the meantime, I can put together a mostly road ride here and we’ll never have to cross a border and we can do it in as many days as you’re free to ride. This, like all our tours, is where you can roll your own…two days, three days, six days or anything you like. Part tour and be left alone in a beach town for a few days rest….bring the bike back when you’re done. Staying small makes us flexible.
If you want some serious off road, I’ll hook you up with folks who’ll give it to you. I’m content to ride mostly road now but understand the urge for dirt.
Costa Rica has it all. Give us a shout and we’ll have you on a beach for Christmas, while at home you’ll have snow on the ground. Best of all, in August, when it’s 90 degrees and the humidity is just at 99 percent, Come to Costa Rica. That’s our winter, what the locals call the “Green Season”, from Mid May to mid September, when it rains in the afternoon and the temperature is, as almost always, in the 80′s….hotter on the beaches and low lying areas.
So just sit back with a keyboard or pencil and check off the things you want.
Volcanoes in their various examples.
Mountainous curvy roads with lakes and rivers and great hotels to stay.
Tranquil Beaches. Drop out on yourself. Catch up on your reading. I’ll secure the bike and split for a couple days. We’ll turn down the rent till you’re ready to ride again. Hey, we want your business.
Booming and bustling Beaches with Casinos and Night Life. Relax, shake the tension out….Loosen up. Play some Slots, meet People. Eat in a hundred little places along the beach and main thoroughfare. Hire a boat and fish like you’ve never dreamed. We can even rent you a scooter while you’re keeping the meter low on your KTM.
Want to do an easy morning ride on dirt roads? Just ask me, and I’ll be happy to show you some beautiful country and have you back for lunch.
Or All of the Above…. how much time do you have?
If you haven’t ridden in a while or only been riding a short time, get in touch with me and we’ll talk about it. I won’t throw you into a big group and expect you to swim. I know some really spectacular routes that are easy and fun to ride. We’ll make it a trip that will improve your skills and give you confidence. If our KTMs are too big, we can rent you a smaller motorcycle.
